I just picked up an album in boston by a band called torche. they are like mastadon but punkier and sometimes dronier. you didn't specify what type of heavy you were looking for but. the last song on torches album meanderthal...also entitled meanderthal is pretty epic! and sludgy!

Meanderthal - Just listened to it on Amazon. Quite liking the title track.
